From their website, I took some really cool FAQs, read them!
Can a user take control of a TV in a public place such as a bar or restaurant?
Yes. Actually, you could always use a universal remote control to take control of someone elses TV. The difference is that most people dont carry a universal remote with them unless its also their iPhone.
Will the accessory drain the iPhone batteries?
No. Each code transmission uses a tiny bit of power for a half second. You wont notice a significant effect on battery life. However, leaving your iPhone or iPod touch on will use the battery with any app, including the L5 remote.
What is the range for the L5 remote?
The L5 remote h as a range of about 30 feet in use, and about 1 foot when transferring signals from your old remote to the L5 remote.
Will the L5 remote control my entertainment devices?
The L5 Remote works with thousands of home entertainment and home automation devices. There are some non-standard remote signals that will not work with any universal remote, including the L5 remote.
Will the L5 remote open my garage door or interfere with my cell phone?
No. Garage door openers and cell phones use radio waves, which do not interact with infrared, which is light that machines can see but humans cant.
How many devices can I control using the L5 remote?
The L5 remote can hold up to 100,000 buttons, and index 1000 remotes.
Can I use the L5 remote in more than one room?

Could of been very smart on Apples part, but I think the L5 Remote will be good, even though it would be nice to have it built in so you don’t have a chunky piece of hardware sticking out the charger slot.
It probably will …

What a shame that Apple hasn’t put a native IR transmitter in the iPhone. But I’m really looking forward to the app/hardware.
